This study investigates the impact of study habits on the academic performance of secondary school students in the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria. It adopts a descriptive survey design to gather existing information from the target population. The population comprises senior secondary school students, both male and female. A sample of 200 students from five schools is randomly selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data is collected using a validated questionnaire, the “Study Habit and Study Attitude Scale” (SHSAS), which includes demographic information and items related to the research hypotheses. The data analysis involves aggregating responses and conducting a simple percentage statistical analysis to measure the level of the effect of study habits on academic performance. The study aims to assess students’ study habits, compare academic performance between students with and without study habits, examine factors influencing study habits, and investigate the relationship between study habits and academic performance. The findings of this research are expected to contribute valuable insights into the factors affecting students’ academic performance and serve as a resource for future studies in related fields.
