Topic: Uses of Computers in School

Instructional Objectives

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Identify three ways computers are used in schools, such as for learning, research, and communication.
  2. Express their feelings about how computers make learning more fun and exciting.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to use a computer for a simple task, like opening a drawing program and creating a simple picture.

Entry Behaviour

Pupils should already know what a computer is and may have seen or used one at home or in school for basic tasks like playing games or watching videos.

Instructional Materials

  1. Pictures or videos showing computers being used in different school activities (e.g., typing, drawing, researching).
  2. Flashcards with different uses of computers in school (e.g., learning programs, presentations).
  3. A simple drawing application on a computer or tablet that pupils can use during the lesson.

For Learning:

For Communicating:

For Creating:

  • Computers allow students to create projects, presentations, and artwork using various software applications, enhancing creativity and expression.

For Researching:

  • Computers allow pupils to find information quickly for their projects and assignments.
