The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has significantly impacted global public health, with over 35.5 million infections and more than 1 million deaths worldwide by late 2020. Nigeria, a densely populated country, has reported over 59,000 cases and 1,113 deaths. The study investigates the impact of comorbidities, specifically hypertension, diabetes mellitus, asthma, and obesity, on COVID-19 patient outcomes in selected isolation centres in Abuja. The research explores the prevalence of these comorbidities, their influence on disease severity, and recovery rates compared to patients without comorbidities. Findings from this study aim to enhance understanding of how comorbid conditions affect COVID-19 progression and inform better management and policy-making to improve patient care. The investigation focuses on data from two isolation centres in Abuja, addressing critical gaps in chronic care for COVID-19 patients with multiple comorbidities in Nigeria.
