At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Define technology in their own words.
  2. List at least five areas where technology is important, such as health, education, communication, transportation, and home.
  3. Explain how technology makes tasks easier and improves mass production.

Pupils should be familiar with everyday tools and devices they use at home or school.

Meaning of Technology:

  • Technology refers to the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry, communication, and everyday life.

Importance of Technology:

  1. Health: Hospitals use technology for medical diagnoses, surgeries, and patient care.
  2. Education: Schools use technology for teaching, research, and learning.
  3. Communication: Mobile phones, the internet, and social media help people communicate across distances.
  4. Transportation: Vehicles such as cars, airplanes, and trains make travel faster and more efficient.
  5. Home: Technology improves living conditions with devices like washing machines, refrigerators, and televisions.
  6. Mass Production: Factories use technology to produce goods quickly and in large quantities.
