Instructional Objectives

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Define what a pressing iron is and identify its main parts.
  2. Explain at least three uses of a pressing iron in daily life.
  3. Demonstrate safe handling of a pressing iron through a role-play scenario.

Entry Behaviour

Before starting this lesson, pupils should already know about household tools and appliances and may have seen or used a pressing iron under adult supervision.

Instructional Materials

  1. A real or toy pressing iron (unplugged and safe for demonstration).
  2. Visual aids (charts or pictures) showing different types of pressing irons and their uses.
  3. Fabric pieces to demonstrate pressing techniques (using safe alternatives like a toy ironing board).
