Objectives

At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

  1. Identify and list three types of homemade cleaning agents (e.g., vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice).
  2. Explain the specific uses of each homemade cleaning agent in household cleaning.
  3. Prepare a simple homemade cleaning agent with the guidance of the teacher.

Entry Behaviour

Students should already have basic knowledge of common household cleaning activities and tools such as brooms, brushes, and detergents.

Content 

Types of Homemade Cleaning Agents:

  1. Vinegar – A natural cleaning agent used for removing stains, disinfecting surfaces, and polishing glass.
  2. Baking Soda – Useful for scrubbing surfaces, deodorizing, and removing tough stains.
  3. Lemon Juice – Known for its natural acidic properties, lemon juice helps remove grease and acts as a natural disinfectant.

Uses of Homemade Cleaning Agents:

  • Vinegar: Excellent for cleaning windows, kitchen surfaces, and floors.
  • Baking Soda: Works well in scrubbing sinks, bathtubs, and removing odors from carpets.
