Posted on May 3, 2024May 3, 2024 By 4myresearch

This study delves into the correlation between parental education and the academic performance of secondary school students in Imo State, Nigeria. It investigates how parental involvement, socio-economic status, and parenting styles impact students’ achievements. The research adopts a descriptive survey design, gathering data from a sample of forty respondents selected through simple random sampling from five secondary schools in Imo State. A questionnaire, “Parental Education and Students Academic Performance Questionnaire (PEPAPQ),” was administered to collect data on parental education and its effects on academic performance. Chi-square analysis was employed to analyze the data, aiming to provide insights into the role of parental education in shaping students’ academic outcomes in the context of Imo State’s educational landscape.
