Sub-Topic: Reasons for Civic Education in the Society


Instructional Objectives: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Define civic education and identify its importance in society.
  2. Recognize and explain at least three reasons why civic education is important.
  3. Participate in a class discussion demonstrating understanding of civic responsibilities.

Entry Behaviour: Pupils should have basic knowledge of community and social interactions, such as understanding roles within a group and basic rules of conduct.

  2. Visual aids: Charts illustrating community activities and responsibilities.

Meaning of Civic Education (For Age 8)

Civic Education is the subject that teaches us how to be good members of our community and country.

Reasons for Civic Education in the Society

  1. Teaches Good Behavior: Civic Education helps us learn how to be respectful and kind to others in our community.
  2. Helps Us Understand the Law: It teaches us the importance of laws and why we must follow them to keep everyone safe.
  3. Builds Responsible Citizens: It shows us how to take care of our country by voting, helping others, and keeping our environment clean.
  4. Encourages Teamwork: Civic Education teaches us that when we work together, we can solve problems and make our society a better place to live.
