The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has addressed a concerning issue regarding a falsified letter circulating on social media. The fabricated letter, purportedly from JAMB, falsely claimed that the 2024 UTME results were compromised due to a cyber security breach, leading to potential rescheduling of the examination. JAMB clarified that this letter did not originate from the Board and lacked authenticity, as it was unsigned and did not align with the Board’s official communication standards.
This misleading attempt aims to undermine JAMB’s integrity by deceiving candidates and potentially extorting them. The Board emphasized that the results of the 2024 UTME and previous years remain secure, not stored in any cloud system, and thus immune to hacking attempts.
Following the initial release of the 2024 UTME results, JAMB had withheld some results for further scrutiny. Recently, 531 of these results were released, while investigations into other instances of examination misconduct are ongoing. JAMB is diligently reviewing footage from CCTV cameras installed in all accredited centers to determine the involvement of candidates in any malpractice.
