Long ago, there was a group of people called the Israelites. They lived in Egypt but were not treated nicely. They had to work very hard and were very sad. God saw how unhappy they were and decided to help them. He sent a leader named Moses to guide them. With God’s power, Moses helped the Israelites escape from Egypt!. The Israelites walked through the desert for many days. God did amazing things for them, he parted the Red Sea so they could walk through on dry land!, he gave them food called manna from heaven and provided water when they were thirsty. Even with all these wonderful things, the Israelites sometimes forgot to thank God. They started to complain. They said things like, “We miss Egypt! At least we had food there!” This made God sad because He had done so much for them.
