In Nigeria, adult education is constitutionally mandated, yet challenges persist in translating this right into effective action, particularly regarding ICT integration for lifelong learning. This study addresses the deficiency in ICT compliance among adult education teachers and its impact on lifelong learning. Emphasizing learner-centric approaches, it explores the significance of instructional materials, especially computer usage, in adult education. Drawing on insights from Onyejegbu (n.d.) and Nwagwu (2023), it underscores the role of instructional media, including films and computers, in enhancing learning experiences, especially in complex subjects like Biology. The study investigates factors influencing computer usage in teaching, aligning with the broader goal of improving academic achievement among adult learners. Juxtaposing the use of Problem Solving Approach and Computer Aided Instruction, it probes into the factors shaping teachers’ choices in instructional strategies. Through a survey of 40 teachers from five adult schools in Lagos State, this research employs a chi-square analysis to uncover the factors affecting computer usage in adult classes. The findings hold implications for enhancing teaching effectiveness and promoting lifelong learning opportunities in Nigeria’s adult education sector.
