Objectives

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Identify Olumo Rock, Aso Rock, and Kufena Hills as significant landmarks in Nigeria.
  2. Describe the features and locations of these landmarks.
  3. Explain the cultural and historical importance of these landmarks to Nigeria.

Entry Behaviour

Pupils should already know the meaning of rocks and understand their basic characteristics.

  2. A map of Nigeria showing the locations of these landmarks.
  3. Visual aids such as videos or posters.

  3. Kufena Hills (Kaduna State):
    • Located in Zaria, Kaduna State.
    • Known for its scenic beauty and cultural heritage.
    • Often associated with tales of bravery and history among the locals.

Lesson Presentation

Step 1: Introduction
Begin by asking: Have you ever visited a rock or hill that has a story behind it? Show pictures of Olumo Rock, Aso Rock, and Kufena Hills to spark interest.
