Posted on April 9, 2024April 23, 2024 By 4myresearch

This study investigates the correlation between parental neglect and academic achievement among primary school pupils in the Ijebu Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria. The significance of parental involvement in education cannot be overstated, yet many children in Nigeria face parental neglect, hindering their educational attainment. This research aims to fill the gap in literature by examining the prevalence of parental neglect, its forms, and its impact on academic outcomes in a localized context. Utilizing a quantitative research approach, data will be collected through surveys and standardized assessments to analyze the relationship between parental neglect and academic achievement. The study seeks to identify mediating and moderating factors influencing this relationship and offers practical implications for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders involved in promoting educational equity and student well-being. By addressing this critical issue, the study contributes to the development of effective interventions and fosters positive parent-child relationships conducive to educational success.
