Sub-Topic: Materials and Techniques for Card Making

Instructional Objectives

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Identify materials needed for making cards.
  2. Describe basic techniques used in card making and decoration.
  3. Create and decorate a simple greeting card.

Entry Behaviour

Pupils should already be familiar with basic drawing and craft activities.

Instructional Materials

  1. Cardboard paper
  2. Scissors, glue, markers, and decorative items (glitter, stickers, etc.)
  3. Samples of decorated cards

Content

Materials for Card Making

  • Cardboard or construction paper: Used as the base for the card.
  • Markers and pencils: For writing and drawing on the card.
  • Scissors and glue: For cutting and sticking decorative elements.
  • Decorative items: Glitter, stickers, ribbons, and other materials that can be used to decorate the card.

Techniques for Card Making

  1. Folding: Fold the paper neatly to create the card shape.
  2. Cutting and Pasting: Cut out shapes or decorations and paste them on the card.
  3. Drawing and Writing: Draw pictures and write messages to personalize the card.
  4. Decorating: Use stickers, glitter, and other items to beautify the card.
