Introduction
The Journal of Journalism Studies is calling for papers for a Special Issue on “Bodies in Journalism.” This issue aims to delve into the role of the body in journalism, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects.
Topics of Interest
We invite submissions addressing:
- Spaces, genres, and forms of embodied storytelling
- Embodied practices of journalists and affective knowledge
- New bodily configurations in human-machine news contexts
- New journalistic methodologies involving the body
- Innovative approaches to the body as a medium of news storytelling
- Audience’s embodied responses to journalistic texts
- Critiques of the representation of bodies in and by news media
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts:
- Length: 8,000 words (including all text, notes, references, tables, charts, etc.)
- Deadline: 31 July 2024
Submission Process:
- Submit electronically via the ScholarOne submission system. Select ‘special issue title’ and adhere to the formatting guidelines on the journal homepage.
- Ensure that the submission clearly relates to the special issue theme.
Review Process
Manuscripts will undergo a desk review, followed by anonymous peer review if deemed appropriate. Acceptance for peer review does not guarantee final publication.
