I. Basic Information
- Scholarship award: $14,000 for Master’s; $18,000 for Ph.D.

- Tenable at: 2024-2025 academic year (Full-time enrollment required in September 2024 and January 2025)
- Eligibility: Unrestricted citizenship; must enroll in eligible graduate programs at the University of Manitoba
II. Programme Details
The UMGF is awarded annually to graduate students who have shown intellectual ability and academic accomplishments. The fellowship can be held for up to two years for Master’s students and four years for Ph.D. students, provided recipients maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their tenure.
III. Scholarship Requirements
- Eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in eligible graduate programs (excluding pre-Master’s, MBA, MFin, MSCM).
- Minimum admission GPA of 3.00 (some departments may require higher).
- Promise as researchers and graduate students.
- Admitted to a program eligible for NSERC, SSHRC, or CIHR awards.
- Conditions:
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and cannot receive a grade lower than a C+ during tenure.
- Not tenable with any other scholarship of equal or greater value.
