Content
Meaning of Agriculture:

Agriculture is the practice of growing plants and raising animals for food, clothing, and other useful products. It involves activities like planting seeds, watering crops, taking care of animals, and harvesting fruits and vegetables.

Importance of Agriculture:

  1. Food Supply: Agriculture gives us the food we eat every day, like rice, beans, fruits, and vegetables. Without agriculture, we wouldn’t have the meals we enjoy.
  2. Clothing: The clothes we wear often come from plants like cotton and animals like sheep, which are part of agriculture. For example, cotton is grown on farms and turned into fabric for our clothes.
  3. Shelter: Agriculture provides materials like wood and bamboo, which are used to build houses and furniture, giving us places to live and items to use at home.
  4. Jobs: Many people work in agriculture, such as farmers, gardeners, and those who sell farm products. This helps families earn money to support themselves.
  5. Environmental Protection: Agriculture helps in taking care of the environment. By planting trees and growing crops, farmers help keep the soil healthy and prevent it from being washed away.

Sub-Topic: Enumerate The Importance of Agriculture

  • Food Production: Agriculture provides us with the food we eat every day, such as rice, beans, fruits, vegetables, and meat.
  • Job Creation: Many people work in agriculture, including farmers, fishermen, and those who process and sell agricultural products.
  • Raw Materials: Agriculture supplies materials like cotton, wool, and leather used to make clothes, shoes, and other items.
  • Economic Growth: Agriculture is important for the economy because it helps countries grow and develop. When we produce more food and materials, we can sell them to other countries, which brings money into our country.
  • Environmental Care: Agriculture also helps in taking care of the environment. By planting trees and growing crops, farmers help keep the soil healthy and prevent erosion.
